About Our Produce: East Georgia Produce

Located in Jefferson County Georgia, they are a family operated farm growing a wide variety of vegetables, micro-greens, melons, flowers and herbs.  Taking an organic approach, they use a practice called "ecoganic farming" to maintain a soil rich in beneficial microbes and organic matter.  They do not use any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides on the crops.   By growing a variety of crops, and practicing good crop rotation, they try to reduce disease and insect damage and provide a healthy environment while keeping the land productive.

About Our Dairy: Southern Swiss Dairy

Southern Swiss Dairy is a milk processing facility located in Waynesboro, GA that is family owned and operated. Their milk is natural and free of artificial growth hormones. They process and bottle milk products the same day the cows are milked, ensuring customers will have the freshest milk possible.

About Our Coffee: Buona Caffe

Fans of great coffee know that freshness matters. If you’ve never tasted fresh-roasted coffee, you’ll be amazed and delighted by the difference.

At Buona Caffe Artisan Roasted Coffee, the coffees they sell are among the top green coffee beans grown in the world. The coffee you select is roasted by hand after you order it and sealed immediately in a special de-gassing bag that preserve its freshness and flavor until you’re ready to brew it.

About Our Meat: Savannah River Farms

Savannah River Farms is a family working farm, owned and operated by the Deen family. We strive to meet the demands of an ever-growing population that cares about the healthy benefits of hormone and antibiotic free meats. Located a few miles from the Savannah River in Newington, GA, we use only natural methods of raising our livestock to yield products not only superior in taste but in health benefits as well. The humane treatment of our animals and the sustainability of our farm and the environment are major priorities. Ben is a fifth generation crop and livestock farmer, He has raised cattle and hogs since he could walk along side of his dad. Farming and land has always been in his blood. We have been married over 25 years now and although I was raised "in town", I have been in the country with him since. We joined the slow food movement recently and we are hoping to live another half of a century because of it. It is the way his grandparents and great-grandparents, etc. farmed. No chemical fertilizers and No growth hormones. No antibiotics because the animals just did not get sick because everything was naturally done.

About Our Eggs: Ginger Snap Farms

Our eggs come from Ginger Snap Farms they have a variety of chickens all ranging free on their pastures. You will find light brown, green, blue, dark brown, and brown eggs in your dozen eggs. Their main bird is the Delaware which is on the American Lifestocks Breeds threatened status. They believe in developing this breed not only for its great egg laying abilities but for its meat producing abilities too. Therefore they are helping keep this bird from being extinct. They are practicing Animal Welfare Approved practices and are working on obtaining a certification from them. All of their animals are antibiotic, steroid and hormone free. The chickens feed from a diet of fresh pastured grasses and are supplemented with grains mixed locally by a Mennonite farmer. The chickens are day ranging on the pasture and are moved weekly to help ensure better land management and more forages for the chickens. Chickens grown in this environment are much healthier than their industrial counterparts and therefore, much healthier for you.
